Oh love when I saw your Instagram post I finally sat down with this (bought it immediately when came out but have found grief a hard one these last years like many) and woweee I’m so glad I waited as I am confident I’m reading it in a way more sustainable way just now than I could have back then. I’ve also got Ali’s new one and have been feeling scared to start as I know how floored it’ll leave me. In time.

I adore the way you write about books 🤎

Appreciate it! I'm definitely in a bit of a 'folklore horror grief excavation' reading period...but very here for it.

You know I've hidden away from it. Maybe it's time...

Thank you so much Kirsty for sharing this. I have spent much of the past year feeling those feelings that you so eloquently articulate about not being able to read and feeling that my words can never stand up in the company of others… I haven’t read Starve Acre but have heard such good things about it. I have read Ali’s book and that is one of my standout books too, I need to talk to someone about it, it was incredible! Sending you huge love from Cornwall xxxx

It's so very difficult sometimes to write when our worlds are busy with worry and the world. One day we shall meet and share our stories! Sending love right back at you from Glasgow xx
